Transitioning from a Committee of Management, Committee or from an management/operational approach to a board that governs can have its serious challenges, risks and resistors. This presentation provides a community governance framework and then moves into identifying typical barriers, hurdles or resistance issues that individual board members or the whole board display to a chief executive officer or themselves.
Most importantly whilst each barrier, hurdle or issue is presented, so too are a number of practical solutions, strategies or tools that can assist boards and chief executive officers to make a successful transition to a position where “the board governs the organisation and management manages the organisation”.
